German was my first foreign language at the age of six. Hesitatingly I picked it up, but eventually I interpreted at the kindergarten from German into Polish and vice versa. This was 1982.

Today I also translate from Polish (though not into it). My first language, my school language, is German and my second language is English. My visit to Cornwall in 1993 initiated my inner motivation to immerse myself in. British language and culture. After studying English in Bochum, North-Rhine Westphalia, I took up postgraduate studies in literary translation and got an M.A. degree with distinction. This was my attempt to combine love for literature with my passion for languages. In all my translations you can be sure that they are done with utmost dedication.
